There are three primary ways to donate to the New York City Coalition Against Hunger and assist us in our efforts to help the hungry of New York City:

  1. Give financial support. Network for Good, a service for nonprofit organizations, handles direct donations to the Coalition. The security of your transaction is guaranteed. To donate, click here:

You may also send a check or money order to Esther Larson, Development Director, New York City Coalition Against Hunger, 16 Beaver Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10004. For more information on supporting the Coalition, please call Esther at (212) 825-0028 x208.

  2. Give equipment or services. Emergency food programs are constantly in need of material help from generous individuals. Some examples of needed items are copy machines and supplies; fax machines; computer equipment; printers and supplies; used vehicles; refrigeration equipment; fans and air conditioners; kitchen appliances; cleaning supplies (e.g., detergent, soap, brooms, mops); building repair services (e.g., electrician, carpentry, painting). Many larger agencies also organize annual toy drives. If you are interested in donating kitchen equipment, contact Frances Wood at fwood@nyccah.org or 212-825-0028 x215. For office equipment donations, contact Sandy Su at ssu@nyccah.org or 212-825-0028 x220.
  3. Give food. There are many ways to donate food to individual or multiple feeding programs. To donate to a specific program in your area, please see our map of city feeding programs. To donate large amounts of canned food, contact the Food Bank for New York City. To donate large amounts of prepared or fresh food, contact City Harvest. Also, many large feeding programs organize food drives, typically around the holidays. During these times, keep an eye to your local press or religious bulletin boards for opportunities to give.

Please also consider volunteering at a food pantry or soup kitchen!
